WHITEHORSE – The Inquiry Report released today contains the IPC’s findings following her review of a complaint made by an individual who alleged the Department of Education (Department) used or disclosed his personal information contrary to the requirements of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP Act).

The IPC found the Department violated the ATIPP Act when it disclosed records containing the individual’s sensitive personal health information to the individual’s union representative and an Assistant Deputy Minister of the Department as part of a second level grievance procedure.  The IPC made one recommendation to the Department which it subsequently accepted.

The Inquiry Report can be found here.
